IUPUI Journey

What Have I learned?

What I have learned overall about my strengths and weaknesses is that I'm able to not let failing take over me, I'm able to be productive on campus, and that I am able to balance a social life. My weaknesses would be procrastinating, poor study methods, and time management. With this semester being almost over I notice that I have a lot I need to work on and that includes coming up with a plan to redeem myself.

My IUPUI journey was in the beginning, stressful. I remember wanting to apply before November 1st so that I could get first priority but doing the essay part was what was holding me back. Once I got accepted I felt a relief because I knew I was going to attend this college. Bridge week didn't even feel real because the thought that I was going to start college didn't hit me yet and now I'm here! A significant experience I had this semester would have to be me going to New York. This was significant for me because it was the first time that I've traveled alone without my parents. What I learned from this experience is that I am capable of traveling alone and don't need to depend on people for certain things.

Big Lesson?

One big lesson I learned this semester is to not start slacking off. Once you do, it's hard to come back from it. Recently, I've noticed that I'm falling behind in a few classes and that worries me. I want to have a strong beginning in college but I'm not. I know that I have to work harder, and I will. One piece of advice I give myself for next semester is to do my assignments first, and then I can join in on the fun. school is number 1 priority.
